Dear MSU Students:

Michigan State University and its Department of Athletics are committed to providing a positive game-day experience for all fans. Last season, the number of MSU students purchasing a season football admission was the most in 18 years. The increase was attributed to a well coordinated "WE ARE ONE" campaign combined with the new leadership and positive direction of our football program. The long term upward trend is expected to continue and therefore we anticipate sustained student interest.

In 2007, to accommodate the increased support from students, more than 1000 students were commingled with season ticket holders in the south endzone. As a result, many students and season ticket holders expressed concern regarding seating access, safety, and comfort. Students also were disappointed to be seated apart from the majority of the student body.

We listened to our fans and closely monitored the sections throughout the 2007 season. We made several adjustments during the season to address these issues including the addition of staff, dedicated student entry points and wristbands.

In addition to the adjustments made in the 2007 season, we have determined additional changes and improvements must be implemented in 2008:

The student section will be expanded for the 2008 season to include:
• Southeast corner of the lower bowl (all seats in sections 10-14 and the east side of section 15)
• East side upper deck to include (all seats in sections 112-111 and the south side of section 110)
• The student section will be composed of contiguous seat blocks.
• These contiguous seat blocks will be clearly defined, safer and more manageable.
• Student season admissions will be limited to these sections.
• Student season admissions are $146 and are on sale now at msuspartans.com, by phone at 517-355-1610 or 1-800-GOSTATE, or in person at the Spartan Ticket Office located in Jenison Fieldhouse during regular business hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. after July 31).
• Each student admission includes the official 2008 "We are One" T-shirt.
• Student seating will be assigned by section on a first-come basis.
• Students should arrive and enter with the people you wish to sit with during the game.
• Season ticket holders have been relocated to accommodate this expansion. Support from MSU students is critical to the success of the Spartan football program. Your cooperation will contribute to our goal of providing a safe, exciting and enjoyable game day experience for all. And remember that WE ARE ONE! WE ARE UNITED! WE ARE SPARTANS!
